Rustic Wedding | Jackson/Somerset, MI | Hilltop Manor Inn | Holly & Johnny

I have been friends with Holly for more than a dozen years, so when she asked me to be her wedding photographer, of course I said yes!  And I'm so thankful I did!  Holly and Johnny's wedding was perfect!  For a mid-June wedding, the day was perfect, not too hot or humid!  The wedding and reception were to take place at Hilltop Manor Inn, in Somerset, MI.  Just South of Jackson, it made for a perfect backdrop of a quiet, country chic feel. *(Side note: The last time I photographed a wedding at this location, I was 38 weeks pregnant, so I was quite thrilled to  not have to climb the many flights of stairs with a big ole belly!)

The girls got ready in the main house, on all three floors, but using the dining area as the main hub for hair and makeup. The guys finished setting up the reception floor upstairs in the barn, then got ready below.  As the morning turned to afternoon, the pieces of the day came together.  Chairs were set up down in the backyard for the ceremony while cornhole was prepped for cocktail hour.

Their ceremony was quaint and sweet with lots of laughs and love out on the back lawn.  Once the ceremony and receiving line were complete, the bridal party and I headed out to McCourtie Park in Somerset for more portraits.  Here, they were able to let loose and celebrate with the bride and groom for a few moments together.

Holly & Johnny's reception was a hit! Honestly, even after 10pm, their dance floor was as packed as it was shortly after dinner.  John Smith from Mid Michigan DJs sure knew how to keep the party going and the guests engaged.  Overall, it was a fantastic day and I am so lucky to have been a part of it.  Congratulations, Holly & Johnny! May you have many many years of love together <3
